This stunning submission in the final second of a 25-minute fight made UFC history

Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson is good. Really good.

DESPITE BEING REGARDED by some as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Demetrious Johnson is probably the most under-appreciated athlete in the entire organisation.

Undefeated as the only flyweight champion in UFC history, Johnson now has seven consecutive wins in 125lbs title-bouts following his spectacular victory against Kyoji Horiguchi in Saturday night’s main event at UFC 186.

The bout was just a single second away from requiring a decision from the judges, but Johnson pounced to secure an armbar that forced his opponent to tap at the 4:59 mark of the fifth and final round.

It was the latest ever stoppage in a UFC fight.
