Alli: FA handed down charge after reviewing video footage.

Dele Alli's season is over as FA hit him with 3-match ban

Alli was caught striking Claudio Yacob during Monday’s draw with West Brom.

PFA YOUNG PLAYER of the Year Dele Alli has been hit with a three-match ban, bringing a premature end to his Premier League season.

The Spurs youngster was caught striking Claudio Yacob during Monday’s 1-1 draw against West Brom, a result which left table-toppers Leicester City on the brink of a remarkable title.

Referee Mike Jones and his assistants missed the incident but the FA handed down a violent conduct charge after reviewing the video evidence.

Alli, 20, accepted the charge but his claim that a three-match ban would be “clearly excessive” was rejected at an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Thursday.

He will miss the final three matches of Spurs’ title chase against Chelsea, Southampton and Newcastle.
