Why are the RTÉ panel, Conor McGregor and Jonny Sexton releasing butterflies this week?

Hint: It’s all to do with DEBRA Ireland and EB Awareness Day.

SOME OF IRISH sport’s biggest names are “releasing their butterflies” to raise awareness and funds for a rare skin condition.

RTÉ panellists Eamon Dunphy, John Giles and Liam Brady, along with UFC star Conor McGregor and Irish rugby international Jonny Sexton are supporting DEBRA Ireland’s EB Awareness Day this Friday, 24 October.

DEBRA are asking the public to pick up a temporary butterfly tattoo from a branch of Insomnia, take a picture to share across social media, and donate €4 by text.

Around 300 people in Ireland suffer from the painful EB (epidermolysis bullosa), which causes skin to tear and blister at the slightest touch.

DEBRA’s campaign is inspired by the idea that people with the condition have skin as fragile as a butterfly’s wing.

You can donate €4 by texting BUTTERFLY to 50300.

I must say I’m disgusted by the GAA and tg4 today.mlast yrs all ireland hurling final the first one was prob the best game of hurling every seen played on these shores, in contrast the all Ireland football final between Kerry and Donegal was one of the worst and negative games ever played . So today Kilkenny and Tipp play again the two most dominant teams in the last 10 yrs in the country and what do the powers that be show live … Yes the bloody dour fest that will be Kerry and Donegal . I’m disgusted and shame on ye for treating hurling again as the second game on our shores. How the hell do the GAA expect to make hurling more competitive when they do crap like this.

    3 mins gone Tipp 1-1 Kilkenny 1-1
9 mins gone a in footie kerry 0-3 Donegal 0-2
    I REST MY CASE

Would rather watch a bad game of hurling than modern day football (handball is probably more accurate these days).

As if Cody would ever get sacked over a relegation when he’s missing all the Ballyhale players and half the team is injured
