WORCESTER WARRIORS HAVE this morning announced the departure of director of rugby Dean Ryan after three years at Sixways.
The former Gloucester head coach has been one of the names linked with replacing Mike Ford in charge of Bath. Last week reports emerged claiming Ryan was unhappy with his budget at Worcester – despite having Ben Te’o and Francois Hougaard among his recruits for next season.

Worcester chief executive Jim O’Toole publicly addressed the reports, saying he was ‘miffed’ to read the claim and insisted there had been a 25% funding increase for next season, which he described as “spectacular.”
Today O’Toole said in a statement: ”We are very sorry to see Dean move on from Sixways.
He has been instrumental in developing and putting in place our long-term plan and we have been delighted with our progress and the momentum we have built-up over the last three years.
“Dean has also helped to build a team around him who are ready to step-up to the next level and build on that progress. For the first time in Warriors’ history we have an active succession plan which has already kicked-in.”
Head coach Carl Hogg is part of that succession plan, and he is set to to take charge of the squad from today – a group that includes Donncha O’Callaghan and former Ireland U20 hooker Niall Annett.
