After a strong start, DCU led by 0-9 to 0-4 at the interval with Monaghan’s Michael Brannigan doing the damage at full-forward.

DCU ARE THE Freshers champions in football and hurling after the Dublin university ran out three point winners over a spirited NUIG side to retain Corn Daithi Billings.
After a strong start, DCU led by 0-9 to 0-4 at the interval with Monaghan’s Michael Brannigan doing the damage at full-forward.
A wind-assisted NUIG fought back to level terms after Galway senior Cillian McDaid hit the net on 42 minutes.
McDaid sent over a point moments later to give the Galway side the lead, but Brannigan bagged 1-2 in the final quarter as DCU edged home.
