The two counties attempted to brush the matter under the carpet but a public outcry prompted the GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) to investigate.
It is understood that the video footage provided to disciplinary chiefs shed no light on the flashpoint, however.

Both county boards have been hit with proposed €5000 fines after the CCCC concluded its probe.
Armagh and Dublin have the option to challenge the CCC sanction at Central Hearings Committee (CHC) level but are not expected to do so.
The matter is now considered closed but GAA top brass are anxious to ensure that all challenge matches and ‘behind closed doors’ fixtures are refereed the same as any other game under their jurisdiction.
