Another injury blow for Ireland as David Meyler is latest to be ruled out of play-off games

The Hull midfielder could be out for eight weeks due to a knee injury.

DAVID MEYLER IS the latest withdrawal from the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 play-off with Bosnia.

The Hull midfielder has suffered an injury to the medial ligament of his right knee and could be out for up to two months.

The Cork native clashed with Stoke City’s Marc Wilson during training earlier this week and has been struggling since.

At the time, Irish boss Martin O’Neill said:

“Sometimes even when you want to be as careful as possible, things like that may happen.”

This latest news is yet another headache for O’Neill. Due to a spate of injuries and suspensions, he’s down to the bare bones for Friday’s first-leg particularly.

Ireland must go into future games with more than just a gambler’s chance

What should Ireland’s starting XI be for tomorrow’s Euro 2016 play-off first leg?
