CORK CITY HAVE made an unbeaten start to their season, and with a strong squad at manager John Caulfield’s disposal, the competition for places at Turner’s Cross is pretty intense.
However, two ex-Manchester United stars put their hands up for selection over the weekend. Lee Sharpe and David May (he’s got a Champions League medal so he’s a star in our eyes) were on Leeside yesterday to enjoy the Manchester derby alongside the regulars at SoHo Bar on Grand Parade.
The two lads, who between them won five Premier Leagues and four FA Cups during their careers, tried to grab John Caulfield’s attention by posing with a Cork City shirt and scarf.
But with City already well-stocked at centre-half and on the left-wing, Sharpe and May were sent back to the UK with their SSE Airtricity League dreams in tatters.
Is there room for two former Manchester United stars at Cork City?
