David Luiz would like to clarify that he is NOT a virgin

The player isn’t very happy with some members of the press.

YOU WOULD IMAGINE that when you’re a £50million footballer who lives a rather lavish lifestyle and plays for one of the best teams in Europe that you wouldn’t care about whether or not people think you’re a virgin.

David Luiz does, however. The PSG defender responded angrily to stories that he was a virgin, after he announced that he was planning to abstain from sex until after his marriage to long-term girlfriend Sara Madeira.

In an interview with BBC Sport’s Football Focus, Luiz said: “People are saying things everywhere about whether I’m a virgin or not. I’m not a virgin. I’ve had more than one girlfriend in my life.”

“Some people in the press don’t respect people in life. I can put my head on my pillow and sleep great because I respect everyone. My religion, my baptism, I’m very happy.”

Luiz was baptised by his PSG team-mate Maxwell this week and the deeply religious Christian posted pictures of the ceremony to his Instagram page, with the caption: 'I have chosen to wait'.
