CHELSEA DEFENDER DAVID Luiz paid tribute to those who died in the plane crash in Brazil earlier in the week after helping his side beat Man City 3-1.

When asked about the late challenge by Sergio Aguero on him that resulted in the Argentine international’s dismissal, the defender played down the incident and instead chose to focus on the the tragedy that involved the Chapecoense football team.

“I don’t like to speak about this (Aguero) thing. Sometimes the other players are frustrated with the result.

Sometimes it happens. Aguero is an amazing player.

“I prefer to give this victory for the people dying in Brazil.

Because it was a difficult week for us, especially emotionally, I had some friends there. It was difficult to prepare the head to play this kind of game, but now I think we just have to pray for the families.

“It’s difficult at the moment for everybody.”
