DAVID JAMES ALREADY has a reputation as a controversial pundit and his recent comments on Match of the Day will do little to diminish that status.

The former Liverpool and Man City goalkeeper’s comments on the show last weekend are belatedly causing a stir online, after he suggested that Man United could be better off putting Sergio Romero in goals rather than David de Gea.

He also claimed that Real Madrid may not be keen on the Spanish goalkeeper, with their number one, Keylor Navas, currently having a “stellar season”.
