Meath ref to take charge of third All-Ireland senior final for Dublin and Kerry clash

David Coldrick will be the man in the middle.

MEATH’S DAVID COLDRICK has been appointed to take charge of the All-Ireland senior football final between Dublin and Kerry on Sunday 20 September.

Coldrick, a member of the Blackhall Gaels club, has also refereed the All-Ireland Senior final in 2007 between Cork and Kerry and the 2010 final between Cork and Down.

He took charge of Ulster finals in 2010, 2013 and 2015, the Munster deciders in 2006 and 2011 along with the Connacht final in 2008. The 2006 and 2015 All-Ireland senior club finals were also officiated by Coldrick.

Cavan’s Joe McQuillan will be the standby referee. The other linesman is Conor Lane (Cork) and the sideline official will be Derek Fahy (Longford).

Here’s what games Coldrick has been in charge of this year:

  • Armagh v Donegal – Ulster SFC quarter-final
  • Dublin v Kildare – Leinster SFC semi-final
  • Monaghan v Donegal – Ulster SFC final
  • Kerry v Kildare – All-Ireland SFC quarter-final

The All-Ireland minor final between Kerry and Tipperary will also be refereed by a Meath man as David Gough takes charge.

Down’s Ciaran Branagan will be the standby referee, the other linesman is Liam Devenney (Mayo) and the sideline official will be Eamon O’Grady (Leitrim).

A member of the Slane club, Gough previously refereed the All-Ireland U21 football final in 2013 between Cork and Galway.

This year Gough has been in charge of:

  • Longford v Carlow – All-Ireland SFC Round 1A
  • Cavan v Roscommon – All-Ireland SFC Round 2A
  • Armagh v Galway – All-Ireland SFC Round 2B
  • Tipperary v Tyrone – All-Ireland SFC Round 3B
  • Donegal v Mayo – All-Ireland SFC quarter-final
