Leinster put six-week timeframe on Kearney as Henshaw hampered by rib issue

Sean O’Brien is back running after his hamstring injury.

LEINSTER HEAD COACH Leo Cullen says Robbie Henshaw is “fine”, but that a rib issue picked up in the late stages of yesterday’s loss to Clermont may well keep the centre out of Friday’s meeting with Glasgow Warriors.

Cullen’s side are already qualified for Pro12 semi-finals, so rotation for their remaining two fixtures of the regular season is inevitable, but Leinster will also hope to keep players match fit as they chase the last remaining silverware on offer.

Dave Kearney’s domestic season is over after he was helped off the field in the Pro12 win away to Connacht. However, the province say he will be out for “up to six weeks” after his ankle operation. That return time-frame that gives him hope of featuring on Ireland’s summer tour of the USA and Japan which kicks off in New Jersey on 10 June.

Sean O’Brien, who missed the Champions Cup semi-final with a hamstring injury, is running again and will be assessed as this week wears on.

Ed Byrne (hamstring), Mike McCarthy (back and elbow), Rob Kearney (bicep and knee), Jamie Heaslip (back) and Jordi Murphy (ACL) are unavailable.
