CELTIC INTEND TO take a closer look at St Patrick’s Athletic midfielder Darragh Markey when the player travels over for a trial with the club this weekend.
According to Markey’s agent, Gerry Carlile, the Scottish Premiership champions have invited the player over to Glasgow so that he can compete in a ‘bounce game’ on Sunday.
Carlile, who also represents Anthony Stokes and Niall McGinn, indicated that “a lot of clubs” are interested in securing the 18-year-old’s services.
“(Markey) will go over (to Celtic) for one day for a game. He will have a look at them and they will have a look at him,” Carlile told Press Association Sport.
There are a lot of clubs interested in him. He is still a St Pat’s player but we will see what happens.”
