'‘Stitch’ Duran was never my friend' - Dana White hits out at fired cutman

White didn’t hold back when asked about the fired crew member.

EARLIER IN THE week, MMA fans were sad to see the news that much-loved cutman Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran was fired, after criticising their new sponsorship deal with Reebok.

Duran had lamented the fact that the new Reebok deal meant that he would lose out on all his sponsorship deals, and was subsequently told that his services were no longer needed by the organisation.

Stitch had been involved with the UFC for 14 years, and said that after working so closely with Dana White, he was upset not to receive the news from the UFC president personally.

However, White has come out all guns blazing this weekend when asked if there would be any potential return for Duran, saying that he and the cutman were never friends, and that he never deals with cutmen.

“We weren’t friends. We’re not friends and no, he shouldn’t have been expecting a call from me. And if he’s my friend, why didn’t he reach out to me? If we were such good friends and all that. So that’s that,” he said.
