Dana White gives Conor McGregor 'no chance' of beating dos Anjos

The UFC boss says he can’t see how the Irish fighter wins the fight.

A MONTH AWAY from one of the biggest fights in UFC history, the president of the organisation has said he expects Conor McGregor to suffer his first UFC loss when he takes on Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 196.

The Irish fighter moves up to lightweight for the first time since winning the Cage Warriors title at that weight four years ago and White says it may be a step to far.

He told At The Buzzer:

“I don’t see how (McGregor) wins this fight). He’s moving up to 155lbs to take on an animal who destroyed Cowboy Cerrone, who destroyed Anthony Pettis and this isn’t like boxing where you move up two or three pounds, he’s moving up 15lbs.”

The Notorious, of course, is only moving up 10lbs but it’s still a substantial leap.

However, as McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh already told The42, the heavier weight could well suit his fighter as his pre-fight weight cut will not be as dramatic.

We’ll know who’s right on 5 March.
