There's an Irishman officiating at the Nou Camp tonight

Damien MacGraith will be on the touchline when Lionel Messi and Barcelona take on Ajax in the Champions League.

CILLIAN SHERIDAN MAY be the only Irish player involved in the Champions League proper this season but he will be joined by Mayo man Damien MacGraith in this evening’s group matches.

Barcelona meet Ajax at the Nou Camp in Group F and it is a big night for MacGraith, who has been named as an assistant to Scottish referee William Collum with Bobby Madden and John Beaton making up the team of officials.

The 34-year-old secondary school teacher is refereeing the past 12 years and has officiated in the SSE Airtricity League, European championships qualifiers, the Europa League and the Champions League.
