DAMIEN DUFF’S AUSTRALIAN adventure could well be over.
The former Ireland international has reportedly sustained a double injury that is likely to end his season down under.
Duff, currently on a one-year deal with Melbourne City, left the game against Wellington with an ankle ligament injury on Saturday.
Scans today revealed however that Duff has also ruptured a tendon in his calf.
Foxsports report that Melbourne chiefs are ‘resigned to losing [Duff] for the rest of the season”.
“He said he felt something snap and then he couldn’t walk or put any pressure on it. That’s not a good sign,” said coach John van’t Schip after Saturday’s draw. “Damien is a big part of our game plan.’’
