A MAN WHO died after being shot with a taser by police in Telford, England, last night has been named as Dalian Atkinson.
The 48-year-old, who played for Aston Villa, Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday, retired from football in 2001.
A West Mercia police statement this morning said that police responding to a call concerned with the safety of an individual at 01.30 used a taser on a man who was then pronounced dead at 03.00.
