AFTER THREE SEASONS at Derby County, Ireland international Cyrus Christie has completed his move to Middlesbrough for a fee reported to be in the region of €2.8 million.
The 24-year-old full-back underwent a medical at the Riverside Stadium this afternoon and becomes Middlesbrough’s second signing of the day following the arrival of Jonny Howson.
Christie, capped 10 times by the Boys in Green, had virtually been an ever-present at Derby after his arrival from Coventry in 2014 but the Rams were willing to listen to offers for his services following their acquisition of Andre Wisdom last week.

The English-born defender will link up with his new team-mates ahead of Middlesbrough’s pre-season trip to Portugal as manager Garry Monk readies his squad ahead of the Championship season.
Monk, who assumed the reins at the Riverside following the departure of Aitor Karanka, had been in the market for a right back.
“Cyrus is a really good addition in area we are lacking,” Monk said.
“It’s for these guys to come in and to push as hard as the other players have been already to be prepared for the season ahead.”
Christie made more than 100 appearances for his home town club Coventry before moving on to Derby, where he established himself as a regular as the Rams pushed for Premier League promotion.
He qualifies to represent Ireland through his Dublin-born grandmother and won his first cap against USA in November 2014.
