FORMER YOUNG FOOTBALLER of the Year Aidan Walsh has been named at midfield in the Cork side to take on Waterford in tomorrow’s Munster SFC quarter-final.
Walsh’s last start for the county footballers was in the 2014 All-Ireland quarter-final loss to Mayo.
He opted to play hurling only in 2015 and rejoined the football squad last July after the hurlers exited the championship.
Walsh appeared off the bench in the defeat to Donegal last summer and decided to focus solely on football in 2017.
Wing-back Kevin Crowley will make his first senior championship start at wing-back, while Colm O Neill, Peter Kelleher and Paul Kerrigan lead a potent full-forward line.
Waterford have also named their side for the clash.
