Galway 1-9 Kilkenny 0-9 31 mins – Galway bag an early point courtesy of Kevin Cooney.
Victory then for Cork, Wexford and Galway in tonight’s U21 hurling ties. Both Wexford and Galway conceded late goals in their games but they hung on to claim victory and set up a final meeting on 4 July.
Cork will take on Limerick or Tipperary, who meet tomorrow night in their semi-final tie, in the Munster decider also on 4 July.
The new system for the U21 hurling championship means the victories put the three counties into the All-Ireland semi-finals with tomorrow night’s winners joining them.

Cork, Galway and Wexford all through to All-Ireland U21 hurling semi-finals on August Bank Holiday weekend on the back of tonight’s results.
Winners of Limerick and Tipperary tomorrow night will join them. Munster and Leinster finals both on Wednesday 4 July.
