Luke Meade to miss Cork's Munster U21 hurling semi-final with a broken thumb

The Rebels face Waterford on Thursday night.

THE CORK U21 side to face Waterford in Thursday’s Munster U21 hurling championship semi-final has been named, although senior star Luke Meade looks set to miss the game.

It emerged today that Meade suffered a broken thumb during Cork’s Munster SHC final win over Clare last Sunday and his expected absence is a major blow to John Meyler’s U21s.

The Rebels have named a strong side with Mark Coleman, Darragh Fitzgibbon, Shane Kingston, Patrick Collins, Chris O’Leary and Robbie O’Flynn all part of Kieran Kingston’s senior match-day squad last Sunday.

Meade has also been included in the team but won’t feature.
