GLEN ROVERS SCORED an impressive 2-30 as they kicked off the defence of their Cork senior hurling title against Bride Rovers on Saturday night.
Back-to-back champions in 2015 and 2016, the Glen will face rivals Sarsfields in the next round but will do so confident that their key men were on song in a 2-30 to 2-14 win.

The Glen’s goals came courtesy of David Busteed and Mark Dooley, one in either half, while Patrick Horgan finished with 0-10.
Saturday’s early game in Páirc Uí Rinn produced a shock as Ballymartle beat St Finbarr’s 1-17 to 0-11, while Imokilly were comfortable 2-26 to 0-12 winners against Bishopstown.
In Limerick, 2016 All-Ireland champions Na Piarsaigh put new boys Cappamore to the sword with a 17-point win, 2-23 to 0-12, while Dean Coleman’s goal was just enough to edge Doon past Ahane, 1-12 to 0-11.
South Liberties were one-point winners over Bruff, 0-19 to 0-18.
