Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of the EirGrid U21 All-Ireland football final between Cork and Mayo from Ennis.

The famine will end for one of these sides this evening as they battle it out for the Clarke Cup.

The Rebels haven’t won this competition since 2009, with Mayo’s last title at this age level coming a decade ago.

A big crowd is expected at Cusack Park for this one as a competition which has served up some thrilling games comes to a conclusion.

Both teams are out warming-up on what is a lovely spring evening in Ennis. Not long until the action gets underway so stick with us for what promises to be an entertaining affair.

Cork are playing into a considerable breeze in this first half and Mayo are seeing plenty of the ball, although they’ve spurned a couple of scoring chances in the opening exchanges.

It’s been a pulsating opening 23 minutes to this game and Cork have regained the lead. Sean O’Donoghue levels it and then Brian Coakley registers his first point of the day.

Can you believe it? What an end to the half from Mayo as Plunkett sets-up Irwin, who swivels and fires home from close range.

What an incredible end to that half of football. Mayo suddenly clicked into gear after missing several chances previously. Cork will have the advantage of the wind at their backs on the restart but the complexion of the game may just have changed in those minutes before half-time.

That man Loftus and he’s surely won it for Mayo! He gathers a loose kickout from Anthony Casey and holds off two defenders before firing into the top corner.

Irwin scores his second goal of the game as he palms it home. Four minutes of added time and Mayo have now surely done enough to be crowned All-Ireland winners.

Mayo win their fifth U21 All-Ireland crown and they were deserving winners in Ennis. It’s their first title since 2006.
