Football

Division 1
Down v Dublin, Páirc Esler, Newry, 7pm

Division 2
Fermanagh v Cavan, Brewster Park, Enniskillen, 7pm

Division 3
Limerick v Westmeath, Gaelic Grounds, 7pm

Hurling

Division 1A
Cork v Kilkenny, Páirc Uí Rinn, 7pm

In Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling League, Limerick have hammered Laois by 6-29 to 1-12 at the Gaelic Grounds. We’ll have a report from that game very soon.

To Páirc Uí Rinn in Cork, where the hosts desperately need a victory against Kilkenny. A fourth straight defeat for Cork in the League this year will condemn to a relegation playoff, while a Kilkenny victory would cement a top four place. That’s a notable turnaround for the Cats, who had to preserve their Division 1A status last year by defeating Clare in a playoff.

Will the spirit of 1916 rouse the Rebels this evening? They’re wearing these special commemorative kits for the game.

At Páirc Esler, a fifth straight win for the League champions Dublin beckons against hosts Down, who are rock bottom of the table after four straight defeats.

Here’s a closer look at that Cork kit for this evening. What are your thoughts? Leave your feedback in our comments section.

John Power puts over the winner for Kilkenny, punishing a loose clearance by Cork goalkeeper Patrick Collins!

Full-time: Cork 2-22 Kilkenny 2-23

Agony for Cork at the death! Patrick Collins had a good game but that was a costly error in stoppage time and John Power punished him. TJ Reid exceptional for Kilkenny tonight. Cork’s senior hurlers now definitely consigned to a relegation playoff following a fourth straight defeat in Division 1A. We’ll pop over to the football for the closing minutes.

You’ve missed nothing in Newry as there are no more scores to report and we have a minute of stoppage time to play.

Full-time: Down 1-7 Dublin 1-15

Looking back on those dramatic closing moments at Páirc Uí Rinn, Cork will feel that Seamus Harnedy should have been awarded a late free before play switched to the other end of the field. Patrick Collins was in control of the ball but sub John Power picked off his clearance and boomed over the winner for Kilkenny, who are through to the quarter-finals.

Former Waterford player Richie Foley has nailed it here:
