Joe Canning returns to Galway starting line-up for Cork visit

The marquee forward is back after his surprise cameo appearance against Kilkenny last Sunday

JOE CANNING IS back in the Galway team for Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1A clash with Cork.

The Portumna superstar shot four points in the second half of last Sunday’s victory over Kilkenny after coming off the bench and has been rewarded with a place in the starting line-up.

Canning made a quicker than expected return from a broken finger to make a surprise comeback against the Cats. Dean Higgins loses out as boss Anthony Cunningham makes just one change to the Tribesmen’s starting line-up.

Meanwhile, Cork boss Jimmy Barry-Murphy has made five changes to his team.

In come William Kearney, Stephen McDonnell, Brian Lawton, Stephen Moylan and Paudie O’Sullivan.

Great round by McIlroy on a difficult course. Course management was spot on as well. Let’s bring it home.
