• The floodlights went out in Omagh for a spell but Monaghan still got the job done against Tyrone.
• Good start to the Rory Gallagher era as Donegal saw off Derry in Ballybofey.
• Waterford and Fermanagh’s footballers also picked up league wins.
• In the Dr Harty Cup semi-finals, Cork’s Rochestown College reached their first ever final by beating champions Ardscoil Rís and Thurles CBS saw off 14-man Castletroy.
• Finally St Kieran’s saw off Kilkenny CBS in the big Leinster Colleges SAHC game.
