Cork City face potential Europa League play-off against RB Salzburg or FK Shkendija

But first, John Caulfield’s side must beat Rosenborg…

CORK CITY NOW know the path they face in order to qualify for the group stages of the Europa League.

John Caulfield’s side take on Rosenborg in the first leg of their third round qualifier this Thursday night, with a Europa League play-off against either RB Salzburg or KF Shkendija up for grabs.

The winner of City and Rosenborg’s meeting was drawn this afternoon to play the loser of Salzburg and Shkendija’s Champions League qualifier.

Austrian champions Salzburg were beaten semi-finalists after extra time against Marseille in last season’s Europa League and will be expected to comfortably account for the Macedonian champions over two legs.

Should City qualify, the play-off round ties will be played on 23 August and 30 August.
