Cora Staunton destroyed Tyrone at the weekend.

MAYO HAMMERED TYRONE last Saturday to march into the quarter-finals of the TG4 All-Ireland Ladies senior football championship.

And ace attacker Cora Staunton was to the fore once again, registering 2-10 for the Westerners as they demolished Tyrone by 4-15 to 0-3 in Ballinamore.

Staunton’s recent scoring feats have been the stuff of legend.

The Carnacon star notched scored 1-15 in defeat against Galway in the Connacht final and then bagged 9-12 in a club game.

It’s safe to assume that Mayo’s quarter-final opponents Kerry won’t fancy the prospect of facing Staunton on 15 August.

There’s a mouthwatering double-header scheduled for the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on Saturday week, as All-Ireland champions Cork will also face off against Galway in the last eight.
