'There's no place for emotions in this' - Conor McGregor confirms meeting with UFC bosses

The Irish fighter met with Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta on Wednesday.

UFC FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION Conor McGregor and the promotion he so dramatically fell out with last month have taken the tentative first steps towards a reunion.

The Irish fighter met with UFC president Dana White and promoter Lorenzo Fertitta on Wednesday and claimed that both sides would move on from their recent spat in a businesslike manner.

McGregor also told ESPN’s Sportscenter that he believed neither side would hold a grudge:

“I met with Dana and Mr. Fertitta, (it was a) good conversation like it always is.

We have a good relationship. It is what it is. It happens. This is the fight game. Sometimes emotions get into it but it’s important to recognise that emotions have no place in business.

“So that’s essentially what it was (Wednesday) night. We just set it aside. There’s no place for emotions in this. We are doing beautiful things so let’s continue. Let’s fix it and continue.”

There was no hint from McGregor as to the date of his next bout but a headline appearance at UFC 202 in August appears likely.
