Conor McGregor: war of words with Miller. Donall Farmer/INPHO

Conor McGregor's Dublin opponent Cole Miller out of O2 bout

Diego Brandao will step in for the O2 Arena fight.

IRISH FIGHT FANS were looking forward to home favourite Conor McGregor facing Cole Miller in the Octagon next month in Dublin.

But the UFC have tonight confirmed that Miller is out of the main event of Fight Night on 19 July.

“Miller tore ligaments in his thumb during training and is now in a full cast,” a statement reads.

No 15-ranked lightweight Diego Brandao will step in to challenge McGregor, officials say.

“Diego Brandao is explosive and a well-rounded fighter. This should be a war,” said UFC president Dana White.

Tickets go on sale this Friday for Fight Night Dublin.
