CONOR MCGREGOR WILL leave Las Vegas with a lot more money and, perhaps, some new found respect from fight fans.
The UFC star exceeded expectations for many by pushing Floyd Mayweather in the early rounds of their meeting tonight before hanging on until a 10th-round stoppage.

But the Dubliner felt the ref’s decision to call a halt to the superfight was premature.
“I thought it was close though and I thought it was a little of an early stoppage,” McGregor said. “I get like that when I’m tired. But get me into the corner and I’ll come back. There’s a lot on the line here, I thought he should have let me keep going.
“I was just a little fatigued. He was just a lot more composed under the shots. But he’s composed in there, that’s what 50 pro fights will give you. So fair play to him.”
Draped in the tricolour immediately after the fight in the ring, the SBG fighter was asked if he was happy with his night’s work. “I don’t know. I’ve been strangled on live TV and came back. It was some buzz. I thought we were close. Don’t get me wrong, I get a little wobbly when I’m tired – similar to the Diaz II fight. Just let me go on”
The fight, of course, was McGregor’s first professional boxing fight. Will he return to the ring?
“I don’t know. I’ve got two titles to defend I’m having a buzz floating around. If anyone wants a knock give me a shout,” he said.
