Watch: Donegal surfer in the mix for global award after tackling this huge wave in Sligo

It’s the second time Conor Maguire has been nominated.

DONEGAL SURFER CONOR Maguire has been nominated for a coveted international award after catching a monstrous wave in Ireland earlier this month.

The Bundoran man bravely took on a huge wave at Sligo’s Mullaghmore Head and the footage has since seen him thrown into the mix for the 2017 Billabong Ride of the Year in the World Surf League Big Wave Awards.

Maguire is building quite a reputation for himself as a big-wave surfer as this is the second time he has been nominated for the award, following another effort in 2015.
