KERRY BOSS EAMONN Fitzmaurice and his management team will stay in charge of the side next year, it has been confirmed.
Kerry GAA Chairman Patrick O’Sullivan announced the news at the team’s homecoming this evening.
Fitzmaurice guided Kerry to last year’s All-Ireland title, though previous reports suggested he was considering his future in the wake of the team’s 0-12 to 0-9 loss to Dublin at Croke Park in yesterday’s All-Ireland football final.
He had come to the end of a three-year deal, prompting doubts about his future.
He told RTÉ: “My term is up now… I’ve three years done. You know a lot of us have a lot of thinking and talking to do and we’ll do that in time as well.”
