Concussion comes out next month. Sony Pictures

The final trailer for Will Smith's new movie paints the NFL in a really bad light

Peter Landesman’s ‘Concussion’ is released next month.

IT CAUSED QUITE the stir when the first trailer appeared earlier this year but the second preview of Will Smith’s new movie ‘Concussion’ is even more powerful.

Based on the true story of Dr. Bennet Omalu, the soft-spoken neuropathologist who was the first researcher to publish findings related to chronic traumatic encephalopathy CTE in American football players.

The NFL — as outlined in Mark Fainaru-Wada and Steve Fainaru’s brilliant book ‘League of Denial’ — had warned Omalu that admitting that concussion could cause CTE could bring an end to the sport of American football and this trailer only serves to highlight the tension between the two.
