ONE OF THE finest League of Ireland goals was scored tonight as St. Patrick’s Athletic’s Conan Byrne conjured a moment of audacious skill to find the net from inside his own half.
Pat’s were taking on Bohemians in a Dublin derby at Dalymount and were already leading 1-0 thanks to Christy Fagan’s opener.
Then, right on the stroke of half-time, Byrne spotted Bohs’ goalkeeper Shane Supple off his line, pounced on a loose ball and delivered an inch-perfect lob that flew straight to the net.
You asked for it, so here's Conan Byrne's absolute cracker for St Pat's. Watch full highlights on Soccer Republic on Monday #soccrepublic pic.twitter.com/A20QyRjVVz

Byrne would grab another before the end while Kurtis Byrne added a fourth as Pat’s racked up a resounding derby victory.
But the game will be remembered for one of the best goals we’ve ever seen in Irish domestic football.

Yerra
@John McK: Yawn.
TF: I’m coming out of retirement!
FBI: We’d like a word…
TF: I’m announcing my retirement!
The parties are too good after retirement , so let’s have another one .
Pinch of salt comes to mind
@Brendan Byrne: Absolutely. If he’s retired then he should stfu give up the belt. Until he vacates that belt he’s not retired and he’s not fooling anyone with this nonsense
Love to see him fight both Joshua and especially Usyk
To me Usyk is something very special over and above all the others – and perhaps the one that Tyson really fears
If he is the man that many of us hope he is and he takes on and beats such an impressive fighter as Usyk with his own impressive back stories then Furey will be up their in the pantheon of the very best
What will he go at instead, off the rails and another sad act
