The ultimate forfeit if Man United win the Champions League - It's Comments of the Week

Did you make the cut?

IT’S SHAPING UP to be an unbelievable of Sunday of sport tomorrow with a mouth-watering line-up of games down for decision throughout the day.

Ireland’s World Cup campaign continues against Italy, there are two big Premier League fixtures and if that’s not enough, there’s golf, darts and NFL action.

However, reader eggmurr kindly pointed out that the headline act of the day is closer to home than we thought…

“No mention of the junior c north kerry hurling final going to be an absolute cracker…”

Ireland’s preparations for their third World Cup pool match intensified as the week went on and Tuesday saw the forwards hit the gym at the team’s base in Guildford.

As we’ve come to expect, Cian Healy was showing off for the cameras and dominating the gym floor with some ridiculous lifting.

Wholeduck was quickly in with this remark:

“When he’s horsing lads out of the way on the pitch it will be with his focking bare hands not an olympic bar.”

Wexford Youths secured promotion to the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division last week and one former Ireland international is throwing the squad a party to celebrate.

Stephen Hunt is hosting the team at his pub in Rosslare and DJ Dave Wexford was looking to get an invite.

“I’ve got a cancellation tonight if he’s looking for a DJ to rock da party.”

The Champions League returned this week for gameweek two but it was another mixed set of fixtures for the English clubs. Man United’s win over Wolfsburg has got their campaign back on track but Neil Grehan isn’t entirely convinced that they can go all the way.

“Man united don’t make me laugh ….I will run down o Connell street naked if they win it.”

Great decision to bring him back. Who, since he was omitted from the team, has been able to control the play, give decent passes out wide/slide the ball through for the strikers? He’s head and shoulders above any midfielder we’ve had lately. Another instance of how poor trap was

As a Irish man and Forest supporter, I did a shameless celebratory dance when I heard of Andy’s inclusion in Noel King’s squad. His form has been outstanding and he has worked so so hard in the last 12-18 months. His popularity at Forest and in Nottingham in general is at an all time high – I haven’t seen a guy this much loved by supporters since the days of Stuart Pearce.

He is the most down to earth guy one can meet. Himself and Shane Long should get together on the auld guitar and write a parody song of Trap. Here’s to watching an Irish team actually play some football!
