COLM COLLINS WILL remain on the touchline for Clare in 2018, taking him into his fifth campaign in charge of the county’s footballers.

Clare FM reported yesterday that Collins has been ratified for the upcoming season. The Banner have made enormous strides under his stewardship and retained their place in Division 2 earlier this year.

Clare lost to Kerry and Mayo in the championship this year, two of the top three sides in the country.

Following Clare’s qualifier exit to Mayo on 8 July, Collins indicated he would take some time out to consider his future but evidently he has decided to give it another year.

Collins doubles up as manager of Cratloe, who take on champions Kilmurry Ibrickane in the Clare SFC semi-final in two weeks.
