The sides played out a scoreless draw at The Mardyke and were still locked at 0-0 after extra-time. A penalty shootout then saw 2014 champions Maynooth prevail 4-3.
The competition’s most successful side UCD also needed spot-kicks to book their place in the last-four as they defeated Queens 8-7 after sudden death having drawn 1-1.
Elsewhere, the all-Dublin affair between DCU and Trinity ended with latter claiming a 1-0 win despite doing down to 10 men, while UL overcame Mary I by a 2-1 scoreline after extra-time at The Farm.
