Westmeath appoint new manager as McStay ratified for two more years in Roscommon

There’s plenty of ratifying going on around the country tonight.

ON THE EVENING his successor as Louth football manager was announced, Colin Kelly’s return to inter-county management has been confirmed after he was ratified as the new Westmeath football boss.

Kelly stepped down from his post as Louth manager in July, with Pete McGrath appointed to the post earlier, and he now takes over from Tom Cribbin at Westmeath.

The Wee County native will lead Westmeath into their 2018 Allianz League campaign as they compete in Division 3 next season.

Meanwhile, Kevin McStay has been reappointed manager of the Roscommon senior footballers on a two-year term with the option of a third.

McStay guided the Rossies to the Connacht SFC final in his first season in charge and along with selectors Liam McHale and Ger Dowd will continue to be at the helm for 2018 onwards.
