Doyle has one cap for Ireland.

Irish goalkeeper Colin Doyle is joining Bradford for just £1

The League One club are looking to add the Cork native to their squad for a bargain price ahead of the new campaign.

AS CLUBS ACROSS Europe seek to build their squads ahead of the new season, vast sums of money change hands for players.

However, in England’s League One, Bradford City are set to land someone for just £1!

Bradford are in need of a new goalkeeper following the departure of Ben Williams to Bury and the club are looking to sign bargain Blackpool captain Colin Doyle after triggering the Irishman’s paltry release clause.

Cork native Doyle, 31, joined Blackpool on a two-year contract in June 2015 and was part of the team that suffered relegation to League Two last season, making 35 appearances in all competitions.

According to the BBC, Doyle’s measly release clause is thought to have been put in place in order to give the player options in the event that Blackpool, who had just been relegated from the Championship, were relegated again.

The shot stopper, who previously played in the Championship with Birmingham City for 12 years, is an Ireland international.

His one and only appearance for the Boys in Green came in 2007 against Ecuador.
