Clinton Morrison picks several Irish greats in his Fantasy Football Club XI

The former Ireland and Crystal Palace striker joined Max Rushden, Paul Merson and Rachel Riley on the show last night.

CLINTON MORRISON WAS a guest on Sky Sports’ Fantasy Football Club last night.

The 37-year-old striker, who is these days playing with non-league Mickleover Sports, enjoyed spells at Crystal Palace, Birmingham City, Coventry City, Sheffield United and Colchester United during a professional career that began back in 1998.

Morrison qualified to play for Ireland through his Dublin-born grandmother and earned 36 caps for the Boys in Green — scoring nine goals and travelling to the 2002 World Cup.

He spoke to presenters Max Rushden, Paul Merson and Rachel Riley about his love for wearing the green jersey and touched on the infamous Saipan incident before picking his favourite team made up of former team-mates.

There’s a strong Irish contingent in there with Shay Given, Steve Finnan, Richard Dunne, Roy Keane, Damien Duff and Robbie Keane all featuring.

Elsewhere, Clinton goes for former England internationals Ledley King (Tottenham youth team) and Ashley Cole (on-loan at Palace), as well as the great Attilio Lombardo (Crystal Palace) and World Cup-winner Christophe Dugarry (Birmingham City).

Not a bad side, that…
