Clermont take revenge on Exeter in Champions Cup

FRENCH TOP 14 leaders Clermont ran out 42-10 winners over Exeter to take revenge on the English visitors who beat them 31-14 in Devon a week ago.

David Strettle, Alexandre Lapandry, Fritz Lee, Sebastien Vahaamahina and Jonathan Davies were the try scorers for the home side, who secured a bonus-point win, while the English team claimed a late consolation, as Tom Johnson crossed over in the dying stages.

It was a good day for the French as Stade Francais thrashed Treviso 40-14 in Pool 4 while Bordeaux-Begles beat Ospreys 33-27 in Pool 2.
