Here's the brilliant last-gasp CJ Stander chargedown that saved Munster from defeat in Edinburgh

The newly Irish-qualified number eight is in phenomenal form this season.

MUNSTER WERE ONE heroic CJ Stander intervention away from losing to 14-man Edinburgh in Murrayfield yesterday.

But the Irish-qualified South African filled two big lungs full of air and blasted off the line to make himself a massive 83rd minute obstacle for Sam Hidalgo-Clyne to try and hoist the ball over.

The dramatic finish was created by the sin-binning of out-half Greig Tonks.

Had he been on the field, it likely would have been him and not scrum-half Hidalgo Clyne standing in the pocket at the finish. His absence also possibly encouraged Conor Murray to fire off a quick pass to Francis Saili when Munster looked set to see out the remainder of the game in Edinburgh territory.

Anthony Foley’s men had plenty of numbers behind the play and were able to scramble back and cover the breakaway, but the hosts still looked odds on to sneak the win.

Murray clearly owes big CJ at least one pint over Christmas.
