MUNSTER RUGBY HAVE today announced CJ Stander as their Player of the Year for the 2014/15 campaign.

The South African powerhouse – who will qualify to play for Ireland later this year – scored eight tries in 22 appearances this campaign and is the first overseas player to be honoured as Player of the Year and he scooped the award ahead of fellow back-row Tommy O’Donnell and Billy Holland.

The shortlist of three names had been decided by a squad vote, with a public vote deciding the winner from the shortlist of three.

Among the 10 other honours handed out on the day: Tralee flanker Ciara Griffin was named Womens’ Player of the Year.

Meanwhile 24-year-old hooker Duncan Casey was named Young Player of the Year with Academy Player of the Year going to Jack O’Donoghue.

These were the best tries scored in the Pro12 this season – but which is THE best?

He may be retiring, but Brad Thorn won’t be leaving the training field any time soon
