Ciaran Clark has signed a new long-term deal to stay at Aston Villa

Ireland defender agrees five-year deal at Villa Park.

IRELAND DEFENDER CIARAN Clark has committed his future to Aston Villa with a long-term deal.

Clark signed a new five-year contract which will keep him at Villa Park until the summer of 2020.

“I’ve been at Aston Villa since I was a kid and I want to continue to play for this fantastic football club,” the 25-year-old said.

Everyone is looking forward to the new season and I’m delighted to be going into the opening game on Saturday knowing my long-term future has been sorted.

Clark made 22 league starts last season in an injury-hit campaign.

“He looks sharp now and we want to keep him fit,” Villa boss Tim Sherwood added.

“You know what you’re going to get from Ciaran – he gives everything for the cause and that’s all you can ask for as a manager.

“We’re pleased to have him here for a longer time.”
