Louth's Ciaran Byrne hits a stunning goal in a pre-season Aussie Rules game in Melbourne

Byrne’s wonder individual strike came while in action for the Northern Blues.

THE 2016 AFL season is fast approaching and Louth’s Ciaran Byrne served notice of his intentions with a brilliant individual goal in a pre-season fixture yesterday.

Byrne, who is contracted to Melbourne outfit Carlton, bagged the superb individual score while in action for the Northern Blues – Carlton’s affiliate club.

Byrne was part of the Northern Blues outfit that were playing against Box Hill Hawks in their opening Victorian Football League practice match.

The Hawks ran out comfortable 93-43 winners but there was plenty praise for Byrne as he commanded the headlines
