Second-fastest time of her career for Ciara Mageean in very quick Diamond League race in Rome
CIARA MAGEEAN IMPRESSED at Thursday’s Diamond League meet in Rome, clocking her second-fastest 1500m time ever to finish in 10th place.
It was a quick race with Sifan Hassan from the Netherlands conjuring the quickest time of the year – 3:56.22 – to take first and also the meet record.
Mageean, last year’s European bronze medalist, put up a 4:04.49 and ran clear of a number of rivals during the final lap.
She now qualifies for the World Championships in London in August.
