Carlow and Antrim to meet in Christy Ring Cup final after securing wins today

The winners will be part of the Leinster SHC and Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2018.

CARLOW BOOKED THEIR place in the Christy Ring Cup final after a 0-24 to 2-8 defeat of Wicklow in today’s last four clash.

Colm Bonnar’s side led by 0-16 to 1-3 at half-time, with Eoin McCormack finding the net for Wicklow.

John Michael Nolan and Marty Kavanagh fired over eight points between them while Denis Murphy bagged eight points as the Barrowsiders ran out 10-point winners.

George O’Brien scored Wicklow’s second-half goal but it wasn’t quite enough.

Carlow will face Antrim in the final after the Ulster men ran out 4-23 to 0-15 winners over Down in the other semi-final.

Conor Johnston and Ciaran Clarke scored two goals each during the facile victory.

The winners of the final will secure a place in the 2018 Leinster SHC and Liam MacCarthy Cup.

Mayo defeated Roscommon by 1-25 to 2-12 to send the Rossies to the Nicky Rackard Cup next year.
